Victoria has new national parks

After decades of community pressure, in November 2025 the Victorian Government created three new national parks: Wombat-Lerderderg National Park (near Daylesford), Mount Buangor National Park (near Beaufort) and the Pyrenees National Park (near Avoca).We worked long and hard to get better protection for these special forests an woodlands.

This is a campaign led by community groups across Victoria's central west who have spent years fighting to protect their local landscapes and wildlife.
